The Charity Award founder: "Let know good to create other one
TRIESTE. Gesualdo Pianciamore, Aldo for his friends, is a high manager for the Generali Assicurazioni in Trieste. The financial press defined him as one of the "masters of money" for the great amount of capitals he manages for his Group. He decided to place his knowledge, his acquaintances and his great experience in the high international finance at the volunteering disposal. "I wished that the memory of so many charity gestures made in silence by my wife Hazel would remain" he explains. "I also wish that all this will be an example to imitate, so that someone else could do the same. But it is not so easy…" "You see, everyone is more or less kind. But everyone tries to hide his own generosity. When my wife was alive, she did good in absolute autonomy and silence. I tried to institutionalise these charity gestures in someway, to make them know so that charity could generate charity. The intention is "to involve" the others in doing good". Do you want an example? "The three children who will be awarded this year are good examples of great generosity towards other disabled children or the elderly. To let children and families know these facts is a way to encourage to "do". Ilario, carrying on his shoulders his disabled schoolmate Cosimo, could drive some others, for example adult people, to eliminate architectonic barriers not only at school. He could also suggest the teachers to propose some footboard made of wood build "by their own" in order to get through red tape regarding the "superior" authorisation to do some works that will hardly be realised. I can also go on because the three children chosen by the Committee are part of a list of eleven candidates presented for the award of Father Pucci's "L'alunno più buono d'Italia". They are all charity examples chosen among the many cases that the schools propose every year. At last, by giving these humble awards, we inform the public that the youth of the new generation have a lot to teach to every one. Resting on their laurels thanks to a long period of peace and economic progress, the adult people make charity in silence. But in this way they do not give the example to others, an example that could be a plus value, perhaps not countable, but certainly a great advantage for the civil society."
