First line

The Committee of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole has decided, also this year, to award five children for the first line.
The children awarded for this year are: Colella Anna from Taranto, Gualducci Arianna from Faenza (RA), Tecchiati Maria from Padova, Sucameli Cristina from Quartu S.Elena (CA), Valente Tommaso from Foggia.

FROM THIS YEAR, IN ADDITION TO 1.000 EUROS IN INSURANCE POLICIES, THE WINNERS WILL RECEIVE 300 EUROS CASH, WHICH WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY PARENTS.
As usual, the Award ceremony will take place when school re-opens in autumn
.

 


YEAR 2009

Third line

The members of the Board to decide on candidates to the third line of the Providence of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has chosen the following five names for the year 2009:

5. Maria Stella Accolla (Catania)

The award ceremony of the five will be on Thursday, January 21 at 17.00 at the headquarters of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole. Each winner this year will receive the amount of € 1500 and everyone will be given a scroll commemorating the occasion.

Second line

On 17 November 2009, the United World College in Duino organized the ceremony of the students (two more than last year) assignees of the benefits established by Hazel Marie Cole Onlus Charity Award. The awards will be delivered in the presence of the President of the College Gianfranco Facco Bonetti, the former Italian ambassador to Moscow, and the headmaster Peter Howe:

Third line

The Committee of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has assigned the awards for the third line 2008.
The winners are five: Luciana Musian from Trieste, Silvia Salamon from Trieste, Islam Ariful from Palermo, Andrea Pancallo from Vercelli and ex-equo Nando Pizzelli from Parma and Paola Moscatelli from Rome.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 9th at 5:00 P.M. in Trieste, Piazza Benco 1.

Third line

The Committee of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has assigned the awards for the third line 2007.
This year the winners are five:
- Edi Teresa Cosani: For her help given to italian and foreign women in need, expecting babies, and for her help given to the children then born;
- Carlo Piemonti
: Who assisted and helped his ill wife untill her death and now helps elderly people within the de Banfield Association;
- Suor Gaetan
: For her help that has always been constant and steady over the years to all those that in today's society just barely survive;
- Dara Scaffidi: Who has been helping young people in SriLanka for the past 25 years and who after the Tsunami of 2004 is now also helping 20 families rebuild their houses and their lives;

- ex-equo Antonio Tropea, Antonio Tonon, Marco Ravalico: For their constant help to a friend with a serious illness.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 23rd at 11:30 A.M. in Trieste, Piazza Benco 1.

Second line

The head master of the United World College of Duino has proposed a list of candidates to the second line of awards. In addition to the four of last year which have been promoted to the second for the current year, the committee of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole has decided to add four new students of the first year.
In total 8 students have received the pocket money awards.

YEAR  2006

Third line

The Comittee of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole, has chosen the winners of the third line of awards: to those who help people in need.

This year the winners are six, one more compared to last year.
The following people have been chosen:

1. Guerrino Sancin - from Trieste: who, despite he himself beeing 90 years old, with love and dedication helps others who are hospitalised and in need at the ITIS.
2. Marisa Tominz - from Trieste: who, despite having had a stroke, continues beeing a point of reference for both volontiers and patients within the Associazione Volontari Ospedalieri (Hospital volonteers).
3. Livia Pauluzzi - from Trieste: despite her physical problems she is always ready to help others, as well as her 6 children and 8 grandchildren whom she "never says no" to.
4. Maria Pia Branchini - from Pieris (GO): who every day helps elderly people who are hospitalised and in nursing homes and accompanies children to school.
5. Sveva de Bartolomeis - from Napoli: who after the volontary work done in Uganda continues searching for funds inorder to help improve the life of those who are less fortunate.
6. Anna Contini - from Milano: for her continued daily presence over 23 years and the incredible energy and help given to the Centro Gaetano Negri , where she is President of the Association.

YEAR  2005

Third line

The Committee of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has assigned the awards for the third line 2005.
This year the winners are five two more compared to last year:

1. Maria Laurini Bosdachin - who assists with love and complete dedication, day and night her husband who is very ill;

2. Igino Bertamini - "Alpino" who helps and supports-always and and at any time- elderly people who have problems in walking and mooving on their own;

3. Giuliana Fumagalli - both physiotherapist and teacher who with great understanding helps young handicaped people and adults. She is an example to everyone in her generosity and patience;

4. Mother Viviana Terregni - who helps families in need and people who are ill. Within the community she offers her support and help;

5. Lidia Simoni - a pharmacist who now has retired but still remains an important reference point for elederly people near her. She is responsible for the treno violetto- the train for people who are ill-, that goes to Lourdes.

The Committee of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has assigned the awards for the third line 2004.
The three winners are:
Claudia Rappo "for overcoming her great pain by devoting herself to others";
Gianna Gugliuzza "for being always an affectionate friend, support and a comfort to old people who are alone";

Anita Novelli Starz "witness herself that evil can be overcome, for always being at the needy's disposal".

Second line

The Council of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has decided to increase the number of winners of the first line from six to seven this year.
The students-awarded, attending the first year will be four instead of three whilst the students of second year will be all the three of last year, having passed succesfully.

First line

The Council of Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has decided to bring the number of prize winners of the first line from three to four in order to accommodate some of the many applications recieved.

 

The awarded for this year are:
Del Prete Orsola, for learning the Braille, the language of the blind, and for her willingness to understand the problems and see to the needs of her school friend who is blind.
Varvo Alessandra, because she has become the close friend, hands and feet of a school friend.
Catapano Vincenzo, who has become a reference and a stimulus for a school friend who is in great difficulty.
Ciracira Graziana, for being always available for his brother in a very needy family
.

 

The awards, consisting of 1,000 Euros plus a parchment, will be given to each winner in September when school re-opens.

The Committee of the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus has awarded Nerio Delise the prize "for his constant voluntary work totally devoted to the sufferings and to the poors"; Andreina Parenzan "for her unfailing dedication to the help of the needy from all walks in life"; Ivana Cossar "for devoting her whole life to the improvement of the deprived through her vast knowledge and experience".
The Committee for Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole has decided to allow to Giacomo Mauceri of Syracuse in Sicily a special award for the third line, in the occasion of his 90th birthday, for the continuous assistance to his wife younger but not in condition to take care of herself for years.

In total, six students attending the United World College of the Adriatic in Duino were awarded a scholarship this year; Rita Udisho (Iraq), Kennedy Muni Maring (Sudan), Sabelo Mndeni Lukhele (Swaziland) were given the prize for having passed their first year's exams with honours and Tenzin Dolma Dulal (Nepal), Degen Mehari Tekhle (Sudan), Noelia Esperanza Zeledon Arancibia (Nicaragua), who are first year students at the College.

In year 2003 the Premio alla Bontà Hazel Marie Cole Onlus foundation awarded the following students:

Bilotti Beatrice, born in Faenza on January 29th, 1993, for her positive outlook on life and for the wonderful support she has given to Elia making him feel that he is in no way different from any of the other children;
Druetta Paola, born in Asti on August 26th, 1996, for her extraordinary courage in the face of a tragic and rare illness, for her love of life which she believes must be lived to the full with a smile on her lips and without regrets;
Daniele Cristian, born in Catania on November 4th, 1994, for his generosity to others knowing full well that all he will receive in return is a smile. .

The Award ceremony will take place when school re-opens in September.

For the first year the following students have been choosen: Sabelo Mndeni Lukhele (Swaziland), Kennedy Muni Maring (Sudan), Rita Udisho (Irak), winners this year of a scolarship for the United World College of the Adriatic in Duino. In total six students.

On the 13th of JULY the Board of “Premio Alla Bonta' Hazel Marie Cole” has declared winners for the year 2002 the following students:
Falcone Vincenza born the 13/10/1993, student in the third class of the Collegio di Maria di v.S.Agostino, Palermo, "because despite her difficult family situation and her young age (she is only 9 years old), she has helped her family with dedication and a great sense of responsability and at the same time has fulfilled her commitments at school with enthusiasm and curiosity";
Auriemma Virginia, born the 7/9/1990, student in the first class of the Istituto comprensivo di Scuola Materna, Elementare e Media "A. Omodeo" of Scisciano (Neaples) "because of her humility and altruism, her great gift in encouraging and including other children in helping a girl in need, succeeding in making her feel included and welcomed among school friends";
Sannino Carmine, born the 22/09/1989, student in the 2nd class of the S.M.S "Rocco Scotellaro" of v. Trentola (Neaples) "as an example of moral support towards a school friend who is less lucky, prooving how social prejudices can be won and how one can succeed in going beyond artificial barriers".

Gabriele Gullo of Agrigento having spent all last year's prize buying a wheel chair for his brother since the chair the public services provide for him does not take into account the boy's growth from one year to the next

Hakim Idris  (Uganda), Ondogo Okayo (Uganda), Biniyam Taddese Tesfaye (Ethiopia),having succesfully passed to the second year.

Mrs.Luisa Nemez, chairman of A.N.D.O.S., for her commitment and continuity towards women sometimes not autonomous, helping them for the solution of their psychological and physical problems.

Maimuna Abdo (Kenia), Gabriel Akema (Uganda), Ginto Kannoth (India), Emmanuel Tongun (Sudan), Lindelwa Farisani (Sud Africa), winners also last year and now having passed successfully to the second course.
Hakim Idris  (Uganda), Ondogo Okayo (Uganda), Biniyam Taddese Tesfaye (Etiopia), students this year to the first course. winners of a scolarship for the years  2000-2002.
In total 8 young students of different nationalities.

YEAR  1999

First line

Simone Pau, a 10 years old boy selected from the candidates for the "Alunno piu' buono d'Italia", (the kindest child in Italy)

Second line

Maimuna Abdo (Kenia) Gabriel Akena (Uganda), Ginto Kannoth (India), Emmanuel Tongun (Sudan), Lidelwa Farisani (South Africa), were chosen to receive the pocket money for students coming from poorer countries by winning scholarships for the United World College of the Adriatic.

Third line

Sister Anna Muradore, Paolo di Nisio and Paolo Rotondaro were awarded with the money for young people doing voluntary work with elderly people in need proposed by the De Banfield Association.
